The Once Texas Based Convenience Store Giant Is About To Get A Huge Food Upgrade.

I just came back from Hawaii a few days ago and while I was there, I had to make a quick stop at a very familiar conveninece store known for its "slurpees" and quick food items: 7-Eleven.

While I was there, I expected to see the same old "big bites" on the rollers with pizza slices that look about a day old but the ones on the island and even in Japan will blow your mind with its food options.

When you go to Hawaii, you'll find a huge selection of "to-go" food options that are really delicious and plentiful "meals" if we're keeping it real. From "Deluxe Fried Rice" to SALMON with broccoli and pasta, you would think you were at a local grocery store with "ready to eat" meals.

But When We Go Back To Texas....

Yeeeah. Pizza, greasy tiny tacos and fried foods that look unseasoned. I probably would have grabbed one of these had I not known any better and was STARVING but knowing what I know now, I couldn't bring myself to eat any of that. Thankfully, when things are about to change.

In 2005, Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd., owned by Seven & I Holdings, acquired full ownership of the brand.

According to Food & Wine, in Japan, 7-Eleven has long led its American counterpart in prepared meals with foods like ramen, fried chicken, sushi, egg sandwiches, fresh cakes and pastries, mochi, and an array of hot bar items. But now, the world’s largest convenience store chain is trying to bring a similar range of food items to its U.S. stores, and market them to customers who associate the brand with Slurpees and pizza.

So, soon you could see better, tastier and more importantly HEALTHIER food options on your next road trip.
