Midway High Receives Social Media Threat, on Lockdown Wednesday Morning
The Waco Tribune reports that Midway High School is currently undergoing a 'soft lockdown' Wednesday morning due to a social media threat.
Hewitt police have confirmed that the threat was posted on Snapchat and involved a photo of a person holding a gun with the message saying stay away from MHS if they want to be safe. Students who received the Snapchat alerted their parents who then contacted the officials at 1:20 a.m.
Administrators informed parents by email this morning that a threat on social media has been made. Students, staff and faculty went into lockdown after arriving on campus while administrators and the local authorities swept the school and investigated the seriousness of said threat.
