A paralyzed Waco firefighter's life just got a little easier thanks to a specially designed vehicle.

KWTX reports that Garth Goodwin, who was paralyzed in May after falling off of a billboard in an off duty work related accident, has begun to gain some of his independence by hitting the road in a truck designed with hand controls.

Goodwin was a veteran of the Waco Fire Department before his accident, and is now unfortunately bound to a wheelchair. The Waco community has came together to help the Goodwin family recover.

The next project on the list - a new home for the Goodwin family funded by donations. The home would be designed to make everyday tasks a little easier for Garth.

You can follow the Goodwin family's progress by checking out the Garth "Outlaw" Goodwin Facebok page.
