KILLEEN, Texas (AP) — Funding issues have delayed a Central Texas memorial to victims of the Fort Hood shooting rampage that left 13 people dead and 30 wounded.Tuesday was the fourth anniversary of the gunfire blamed on an Army major who in August was convicted and sentenced to death for the attack. Nidal Hasan remains in military custody pending execution.

The Killeen Daily Herald reports the memorial garden and gazebo are planned near the Killeen Civic and Conference Center. The nearly $403,000 project will include sculptures on granite pedestals representing those who died.

Center spokeswoman Connie Kuehl (keel) says the memorial committee has raised about 75 percent of the necessary funds. Kuehl says contributions have slowed in the past couple of years.
