Most folks from Central Texas will tell you that when they get bored, they will make the drive to Austin to get energized by the nightlife and year round events there. A recent study finds that Central Texans aren't alone in that feeling about Austin.

The good folks at WalletHub are at it again, this time, they are ranking the top 182 cities in the country for "fun" based off "65 key metrics" including variety of entertainment options, nightlife and costs. When it comes to Texas, Austin leads the way with Houston and San Antonio not far behind.

In a surprise, the self-proclaimed "Fun Capital Of Texas" Arlington, was pretty low at #86, maybe paying $35 to park at a Cowboys game factored into that...

Its pretty much a no-brainer that the nationwide leader was Las Vegas, followed by Orlando and New York City respectively, Austin landed at #14 nationwide in terms of "fun" despite other cities in Texas having amusement parks and pro sports teams to help their entertainment value.
