Car alarms, "the club", and other anti-theft devices have come and gone over the years, but there's one deterrent that has consistently worked over the years: The Manual Transmission.

According to a press release from the City of Nashville, two teenagers attempted to carjack two women’s vehicles in separate incidents. The two idiots teens attempted to carjack a woman in car garage but was unsuccessful in their first attempt after the woman resisted them.

In their second attempt to carjack a different woman sitting in a grocery store parking lot, one of the would be jackers grabbed the keys out of her hand and both of the teens got inside the car but ran into one problem: a stick shift.

The two fled on foot and were apprehended a short time later, positively identified, and charged with attempted robbery/carjacking, theft of property, and attempted theft of a vehicle.

So remember folks - its still very valuable to KNOW how to drive a manual transmission!
