Temple Package Thieves Caught on Security Camera
Temple police are investigating after two people were captured on surveillance footage stealing packages from the front porch of a home.
Kathleen Serie with KWTX reports that Erin and Eric Shephard became concerned when their $140 Amazon shipment never seemed to arrive. The couple reviewed video from their home security system and saw a UPS driver leave packages on their porch Thursday, June 15. 20 minutes later, the camera in their doorbell recorded two people approaching their door, looking around, then taking the packages.
In the footage, the young man can be heard saying "Hairspray costumes". Eric Shephard, who works as Director of the Waco Civic Theater, told KWTX that most of the boxes contained costumes for the theater's production of the musical. Other packages contained items related to Erin's work as a photographer.
Erin Shephard told KWTX she posted the footage to Facebook, after which she received messages from users claiming to know the identities of the people in the footage.
Shawana Neely with the Temple Police Department said a police report was filed Tuesday, June 20, and that the suspects have not yet been identified.
If you recognize either suspect, please contact the Temple Police Department at (254) 298-5500.
