Quentin Lamont Smith was taken into custody at 1:54 PM Saturday. He was booked into the Bell County Jail at 2:51 PM and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon - a second degree felony.

Temple police are searching for a man suspected of shooting his daughter in the abdomen and arm Friday night before her mother left her at an emergency room.

44-year-old Quentin Lamont Smith is a black male last seen driving a blue Mercury Grand Marquis (license plate currently unknown). Police say he is armed and dangerous, and therefore should not be approached by civilians.

If you know Smith's whereabouts, spot him, or know anything about the shooting, please call the Temple Police Department at 254-298-5500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-TIPS (Local (254) 526-TIPS).

Police were called to Baylor Scott & White Hospital at 6:20 PM Friday in reference to a 15-year-old girl suffering from gunshot wounds to the arm and abdomen.

Hospital staff said the girl's mother placed the girl in a wheelchair in the hospital's emergency room, wheeled her into the lobby, then left her on her own.

The victim told officers that her father shot her in a vehicle somewhere behind the Westgate Park Apartments at 3007 Antelope Trail.

The case is being investigated by Temple Police Department’s General Investigations Unit.
