A man in Abilene, Texas told authorities that God told him to kill his girlfriend and infant daughter.

Cody Edmond Dixon, 34, is from Abilene, Texas. Dixon was recently arrested in the vicinity of Baird on Saturday night for two preliminary counts of capitol murder.

Greg Jaklewicz with the Abilene Reporter-News reports that Dixon's girlfriend, Alia Rae Hutchinson, 22, had recently moved down from Wisconsin with their 9-month-old daughter, Aria Ellen Dixon, to be together.

Alia and Aria's bodies were discovered by a rancher at approximately 6:30 PM on the side of Country Road 324 between Baird and Putnam. Callahan county Chief Deputy Rick Jowers stated that the mother and infant were stabbed with a pocket knife. The bodies were transferred to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Officer to undergo autopsy.

Dixon told authorities that he was being chased by someone who wanted to kill him and that God instructed him to kill his girlfriend and daughter.

Dixon is currently being held at the Taylor County Jail in Abilene on multiple charges, which include escape, assault on a peace officer, two counts of capital murder, and possession of a controlled substance.

His bond was set at $1.8 million.
