Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor quarterback Zach Anderson made his first collegiate start one to remember and earned American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance in the Cru's 35-7 victory over Wesley College Saturday night.Anderson, a sophomore from Odem High School, was 16-24 passing for 238 yards and a touchdown and he added 61 rushing yards and two more touchdowns on the ground. His 40-yard touchdown run just 1:17 into the game provided the first points in the history of UMHB's new Crusader Stadium. Anderson added a 20-yard scoring run and a 50-yard TD pass to Elijah Hudson in front of a school-record crowd of 9,384 fans. He led an offense that rolled up 461 yards of total offense against the 5th-ranked Wolverines.

The Cru is now 3-0 on the season and has had an ASC Player of the Week following each of those victories. UMHB will continue its home stand and open ASC play with a 6:00 PM kickoff against Sul Ross State (0-3) this Saturday, September 28th and will be broadcast on Townsquare Media's KLTD-FM (K101-7) and online at K1017fm.com.
