KWTX's Ke'Sha Lopez reports that a woman has been brought into custody after a three-year-old girl drowned in Bellmead Sunday.

Sharrun Jernigan, 20 is the woman who has been charged in this incident, in which the three-year-old girl drowned in a Bellmead apartment complex.

Authorities at the scene said, "She was responsible for looking after the girl, who was found unconscious in the water at around 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bordeaux Apartments on Scroggins Drive."

The first responders who arrived on the scene tried to rescesitate the young girl, but were unsucessful. The young girl was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Jernigan's bond has been set at $25,000, and the identity of the toddler hasn't been released to the public.
