Twelve days ago we reported that Belton Lake levels were 13-feet above full pool level. It hadn't met the 2015 peak levels of approximately 18-feet above pool level but all that has changed over the weekend. According to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Belton Lake is now 23 feet above full pool level while Stillhouse Hollow Lake is almost 18 feet above full pool.

The definition of full pool level is the water level of a reservoir at normal operating conditions.

Many locations and almost all boat ramps are closed with the exception of Belton Lakeview ramp, though U.S. Army Corps strongly discourages the use of the ramp until water levels decrease.

There is also an extensive list of park closures due to the high volume of water and some are expected to stay closed throughout summer.
