While our side of the state is experiencing sunshine and lovely weather, just a few hours away in Southeast Texas, its a totally different and scary story.

According to KHOU, heavy rain from tropical depression Imelda is causing a flash flood emergency in Winnie Texas. Some reports state that as many as 200 people had to be rescued from their homes with more waiting to rescued as of this morning.

The rain and flooding is being described as "worse than Harvey" which struck this same area 2 years ago. Motorists were stranded on I-10 overnight between Winnie and Beaumont after flood waters got to high making the busy road impassible.
