KWTX reported that a flame filled crash early morning in Temple has sent four people to a nearby hospital.

The four people were traveling in a SUV that collided with a concrete column around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. The crash occurred in the 2000 block of West Adams Avenue.

The crash of the SUV, caused a fire to break out in the engine of the vehicle. A portable fire extinguisher was used quickly to stop the flames from spreading all around.

Temple authorities and people passing by helped the four people get out of the vehicle that was heavily damaged.

The four people in the SUV were rushed to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple. Information about their injuries and conditions weren't immediately available.
