Fire at Temple McDonald’s Contained to Storage Room
A small fire caused a big scare at a Temple McDonald's location Thursday.
Thomas Pechal with Temple Fire and Rescue reports that firefighters were called to the restaurant at 1601 West Adams at 3:15 PM after smoke was seen coming from an open door at the rear of the building.
A small fire in a storage room was located and quickly extinguished. Fortunately, fire damage was contained to that room.
The smoke sighting prompted the temporary evacuation of the building.
Investigators determined the fire was caused by the spontaneous combustion of improperly stored cleaning cloths.
