Police Chase On Interstate in Texas Ends in Shooting
KWTX shares a report from the Associated Press about a suspicious person call exploding into more than what a Texas interstate expected to see on Monday afternoon.
What transpired was a car accident, a struggle between the suspect and authorities, and ultimately a shooting that led to the death of the suspect.
Dallas Police Department released a statement saying, "The episode began about 3:45 p.m. Monday in Mesquite, a contiguous Dallas suburb." Mesquite authorities spotted a person who matched the description of the suspect they were looking for.
The suspect hopped in a vehicle, and the chase began. The chase led authorities and the suspect through Interstate 35 through Garland; and then the suspect's vehicle flipped over once he crossed back into the Dallas city limits.
The male suspect attempted to flee the scene, and was taken over by Mesquite and Garland authorities. A struggle occurred between the officers and the suspect took place, and shots were fired. The suspect was hit, and was pronounced dead at the hospital five hours later.
