If you drive on I-35 or any major highway in the area you'll see road construction crews out everywhere. More times than not they aren't out there repairing the roads, they are working on some sort of expansion project. Which may be an issue according to a recent report, Repair Priorities, from a nonpartisan transportation infrastructure group.

The report states that highway conditions have worsened in recent years and that Texas is spending too much on expansion and not enough on road maintenance, despite higher funding than ever.

According to the report, the "fix it first" mentality is gone and repairs should be the priority. It's hard to disagree with that logic, what good will larger highways be if the rest is in poor and possibly dangerous conditions?

Driving on the highway is a headache enough as it is, let's try to prevent making it any worse.
