A head-on crash in Copperas Cove early Monday morning left a Central Texas woman dead.

Our news partners at KWTX reported that the head-on crash also caused two others to have to be sent to local hospitals for their injuries - included a child.

Summer Hanebuth, 30 of Gatesville was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 2001 Buick sedan reportedly merged over into the northbound lane of FM 116 and crashed head-on with a 2017 Jeep shortly before 7:00 a.m.

A boy who was a passenger in the Buick was taken to McLane Children's Hospital in Temple with injuries that emergency responders described as "non-incapacitating".

Lance Heidt, 47 of Copperas Cove was taken by helicopter to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple with what appears to be incapacitating injuries from the collision.
