Police Investigating Murder-Suicide in Bruceville-Eddy
Several law enforcement agencies are investigating a hostage situation which ended in a murder-suicide in Bruceville-Eddy Saturday morning.
Our news partner, KWTX, reports that officers responded to call about shots fired at a home on Woodlawn Drive around 7:15 AM. The gunman reportedly held residents of the home hostage for about two hours before SWAT officers entered. Inside, they found the gunman and a woman lying dead.
Two children were also found inside the home. KWTX reported that they were staying at a neighbor's house Saturday afternoon.
McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara told KWTX the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute, and that the suspect bonded out of jail Friday. The suspect was facing two harassment charges, as well as charges of criminal mischief and possession of marijuana, McNamara said.
As of Saturday afternoon, police had not released the identities of the gunman or the victim. The McLennan County Sheriff's Office, Texas Rangers, and the Texas Department of Public Safety are assisting Bruceville-Eddy police in an investigation.
