KWTX reported that fire crews started off the weekend having to fight a large fire in Salado Friday afternoon.

The fire the crews were summoned for, look to have been coming out of a storage building along the northbound direction of Interstate 35 near the town of Salado.

People that called in the fire that took place said that flames were shooting above the tree lines, and one firefighter on the scene reported a large amount of smoke from the fire not far from Interstate 35 and FM 2115.

The storge building burned to the ground, and the fire was reported around 1:45 p.m. on Friday. The fire was on a rental property on FM 2115, where someone was burning wood. The fire got out of hand, and ended up spreading to the storage shed that was on the scene. No one was hurt at the scene.
